Merlin - Falco columbarius

Groton, Ma.

The Merlin was at a bare tree top dining on a female House Finch. A few Barn Swallows were dive-bombing the falcon and that lead me to seeing the falcon.

That's a terrific falcon. I see a small passerine as prey so perhaps this is a small falcon like our Australian Hobby.
