The dark background is due to the shadow of a large tree.
When you light up the photo you can see that it is green.
I was also surprised myself.

Just a FABULOUS image. Tack sharp and super flight detail captured. That black bg is just perfect too. I've experienced the same thing before when by just lightening up a bit, the green bg comes through. Prachtig en Goed Gedaan Ton.
