My grandfather, Frank Burr Churchill , was raised in the Genoa/Kirkland area. He was a railroad engineer for many years. Never knew him but it's cool to think he may have gone by this depot many times. Thanks

I am writing a book with information on Amtrak and the Huddle Inn. I would appreciate any information you might have about the Amtrak station and the restaurant.

I am writing about the old Amtrak station in Genoa and wanted to include information about the Huddle Inn. I read that your father was the original owner, and on Google it says that Irene Faye Harmon was also once an owner. I would appreciate any extra information about Amtrak and the Huddle Inn that you might have.

I learned of the Sycamore, Genoa, Marengo to Woodstock InterUrban at the old Milwakee Road Depot Musuem in Genoa Illinois on IL Rt 72. The railroad ran through the towns listed above except for Woodstock. The line was never finished to Woodstock. It ran for a few short years but they couldnt afford to electrify the line and ran gas powered cars which eventualy forced them out of buisness.

I was raised in Genoa, Illinois and my father Donald Weaver owned the original "Huddle Inn" on Main Street. This train stopped every morning and the engineer and his crew would walk the couple of blocks to the Huddle and have breakfast each morning.

I remember that this train ran east and west; what is the railroad that was on the west side of Genoa that ran north to south? This was on a hill as I remember.

Thank you for any response(s) that you or anyone can provide me.
