Hi Frans, I'm not sure about the condition you'll be working in. If it's mostly outdoor, you shouldn't have any problem with a f3.5 lens. Of course, who wouldn't want a f2.8 lens? But I don't think the 18-200mm lens has a f2.8 version. Hope this help. George

Hello George,

I am pbase user Frans Fransen, living in Belgium. I'm working with the Nikon D-100 and the Nikon 200. Now I have a problem, I take a lot of photos of motorcross. Until now I did this with a 28-105 Nikkor F3.5. I am now looking for a Nikon DX 18-200, here we can have it with f2.8 of f3.5. Difference in price is about 1.500 dollar. Should the 3.5 be convenient for what I want to do, sometimes cross happens in bad weather circomstances.
Thanks and greetings from Belgium.

Frans
