Urs, thanks for stopping by my site and thanks for the comments. I agree about Arizona but, you should consider visiting the southern Utah area including Zion national park. Every direction one turns there is a landscape picture to be taken. I've usually been through this area in late August-September and , with a good polarizing filter, the skies are often a beautiful dense blue with nicely contrasting clouds.I refer too this area as having a desolate beauty. I too am relatively new to using a digital SLR. I found your shots to be well composed because some of the scenes remind me of how I would have framed those very shots. Nice composition. For me, my photography is my Therapy !!!!

Hi Urs thanks for the comment. Nice to know someone else thinks it's beautiful. See you're also Lightroom 2. I did it all in Lightroom. Played with the saturation and with the lens vignetting. You've got some great pics yourself. A Great help to me was the Scot Kelby book on Lightroom 2.

Thanks for your kind comment about my Pemiquid lighthouse in Maine on Bpase, through the lens site. Our camera clubs are giving up on 35mm slide competitions. I believe because as people learn how to process a digital image they are able to make better images with all of the advantages of digital. If you process the image for digital projection and have a high quality digital projector you can show excellent images that I think make 35mm slides look anemic. I've never tried viewing images on a TV. Bob McC in Arizona

Hello Urs,
Thanks for the comments on my Arizona images. After reading your profile I thought I would comment on the transition to digital. I made the same transition back in Feb, year 2000. I went through several phases of "I will fix it in Photoshop" to now concentrating on getting the image as best I can 'in camera'. I do not like to spent a lot of time post processing my images. I have learned to slow down and spent more time on reviewing the scene in front of me to get the best image. The fun thing about this is that you get to go out more and photograph. Keep up the good work. Best regards, Jim.

Hello Urs,

It is nice to received a good comment from you. I just return from Vancouver Canada, took many picture there. The flower photo you comment on also from Vancouver. I wonder how is Switzerland is like. You are so far away, yet it seems so close. I am glad I met you on Pbase. Thanks for sharing your photos too.....
