Fashion (?) Art in the Hood, Southtown, San Antonio, Texas July 9, 2005
Que serait le monde sans les filles?
I'd be out of work with less to shoot. That's what.
"Art in the Hood" Fashion show in San Antonio tonight.
This function took place down on south Alamo at the old, derelict, St. Benedict's Convent and hospital.
It was a bit spooky for me. The last time I was at this place was when I was about eight years old. I was visiting my grand father just before he died. I can still vividly remember the smell. Spooky.
The old, decrepit, long deserted hospital was filled with art work. No air conditioning.
The fashion show was on the front lawn.
Macabre evening really.
Nice job V. on documenting this event. This is probably the closest glimpse of 'underground' San Antonio that I'll ever get. I'll keep my eyes peeled next time Contemporary Art Month rolls around this summer. dh
(p.s. you've probably seen scarier stuff in your day job, huh?)
