Perhaps you're right about the sky distracting the viewer's attention (the pano should have had more height, or should have taken more of the monastery structure than the sky, but I didn't have a tool for multi-row panos back then, so I only took 1 row pano).

As far as wide vs tele is concerned, wide is what is recommended for panos by everyone, they shoot panos with 16mm lenses, not only when they're contrained to be too close (like interiors), but also in the open. This one was at 35mm.

this is nice but you should cut sky to draw viewr's eye to remains ! and dont shoot panos at wide end of lens
