Hi Wayne, Breathtaking galleries there by C770, you really have great techniques !! I underestimated my lovely C770 and traded it for Sony H50, and I realized my mistake after few months. I go back and see my old C770 pictures and literally cry !

C770 according to me is the most iconic Oly. camera ever !!

Keep up good work !

Hi Wayne. Like some of the others, I stumbled across your photos today through the Dpreview website. Very nice indeed, and inspirational! Not taking anything away from your pics, I wish I lived in a place blessed with the scenery you have access to nearby! Wow. Although Australia aint too bad either! I swear by the polarisers too which I see you use.
Can I ask how long you have been taking photos? How old are you? I've recently upgraded to a D80 from a 35mm after using a friends for a while and looking forward to getting stuck into it.
Good name too!
Cheers,
Wayne

Wayne,
How are you? Your photos are still great. I just went to the southwest again and put up a new gallery. Thought you might be intersted in seeing what I am up to. It's the Bryce/Escalante gallery in my landscapes folder. Bet you start hiking soon. I watch your gallery for new photos.

very nice photos in your galleries, you are just another good photographer who proves that the camera is a tool only, while the photographer himself makes the photo along with the nature.
very good job

Hi, Wayne...
Wonderful gallery with so many excellent images.
Really can't believe how sharp all the images are and how all the color are so saturated without being muddy from a 4 MP DC camera.
I am using a Nikon D70 with some very expensive lenses and the images I get even after extensive Photoshop work don't even come close to 1/10 of your image quality.
What is the secret of your explosures ? is there something that I am missing, I have try using a polarizer, and all that does is darken some of my images.
Do you use any color adjustments at all with photshop, if so which color space do you use ?? Sorry for so many dumb questions, but your images are so really stunningly beautiful that I would truly like to be able to learn from some of your suggestions.

Cherrs :-) and keep up the good work

Hello Wayne,
Fantastic photos! Are you still using the oly770? Thinking of anything newer? I was in the market for the sp500uz. But..I might reconsider...if I can still buy this one. You mentioned the circular polarizer, what size? Any comments or suggestions for the choice of the two?
Thanks, Kristen

Hello !

First of all I want to congratulate you about the wonderful photos you have made with this Cam !

In a mail that I founded in a forum , I saw that you uses a Hoya Polarizer Filter. I would try to find a filter too,
could you tell me more about it ?
what is the size ? the exact type of this filter ?

I found that link but I don't know what to choose....

Awsome eye ... Where you live in your head is a remarkable place ... Your view of the world around you, reflected in your PHOTOS, is a place I'd like to spend some time ... The technical part of them I can't speak to intelligently but they seem to be perfection ... Rather than bombard you with questions ... I'm asking permission to talk camera settings in depth as I have the older c740 uz and would like to explore your default settings to see if I could approximate them as your exif terms don't look like mine ...
bob 23-Jun-2005 23:26
After dwelling over many camera's (Minolta Z3, Fuji s3500, Oly c-750 & 770) I decided to order the c-770 based on the quality of photos produced by it on this site, especially your gallery. Really I can't see the difference between this camera's picture quality and higher ones around the 5mpx mark in the Olympus range. Outstanding photos you've got here!
Dan 21-Jun-2005 23:33
These are indeed great photos. I stumbled upon your galleries looking for reinforcement to my intended C765/770 purchase. At first I thought you did it for me. But then I looked at your Canon Powershot S300 gallery, (which I have as well), and realized that it is NOT the equipment which is responsible for these great pictures... Thanks anyway for the inspiration and your immensely enjoyable photo work!!!

Thanks for visiting Wayne - ironically we moved from Vancouver to Nanaimo! I also enjoyed viewing your galleries as it brought me back to some great years in Vanc. Your photos are great! Cheers from the island...

Hi Susanto!
Congrats on your excellent c770! The play that exists with the lens is evident on all Oly digicams and is "normal", so no worries! I would recommend getting a CLA4 converter and leaving that on the camera at all times. It protects the lens, and it allows you to add additional filters (such as a highly recommended circular polarizer) and lenses.
Have fun!
Wayne

I first had the pleasure of your work last summer - it prompted me to take the digital plunge BUT more importantly -- as a Vancouver expatriot you allow me to vicariously share your delight in the natural beauty as it changes thru the year WELL DONE (I can't believe the crispness of your work) do you use a tripod often? logs and rocks are seldom where I need them?
Rafal 26-Apr-2005 12:09
Realy great pictures! A few weeks ago I just bought the C770UZ for my girl friend, but I didn't know taht it's possible to take as awesome pictures as yours with it. Thanks for the full exif info!
Best Regards, Rafal.
ps.: sorry for my poor english

Those pictures that you've taken are just simply AWESOME!!! I learned a lot of technique from your pictures (point of view, shutter speed, aperature, metering, etc). Those EXIF are really helpful for me. Now I can take better pictures that I could take before. Thanks for those and keep posting the new one!!
Barry 10-Apr-2005 10:36
Thanks for your great photos taken with the C-770 Wayne
I will almost certainly buy one within the next few months

You have some excellent images displayed here my friend. You certainly possess the so-called "photographer's eye". The landscapes and various scenery images are superb.

Now just imagine what an E1 would do for you!! LOL!

Great photography. Keep up the excellent work.

Wayne, because of you, I went out and bought the Olympus C-770. I also emailed Olympus and told them they need you to be their official photographer! Your images on here are excellant. I looked at many cameras and sample photographs taken by them, some were over twice the price of the C-770 and the ones you took with this camera were the best I drove over 100 miles yesterday to a dealer that had one in stock and bought it. Now I get to find out if it is some kind of magical camera or the photographer, you. BTW the camera I was going to get was a Canon Digital Rebel XT and thanks for saving me a lot of cash!
wayne_n25-Mar-2005 19:04
Thanks Henry! You'll love your c770! Lately I've had my incamera contrast set to -5 to avoid blown highlights, so if I do any post processing work on an image, it will usually only be levels or curves. I use a polarizer when possible, so this enhances the colors as well.
Cheers,
Wayne

excelent gallery. you are great photographer. I hope that I will buy same camera like your. than you will see some great pictures from Bosnia. clean rivers and lakes. thanks for good pictures.
Clay 19-Mar-2005 03:52
You need to go Pro!! I always thought I would need an 8 megapixel or more to take great photographs but you do it with a 4mp. Have you thought about selling your images? I think you could sell most of these.
wayne_n18-Mar-2005 04:55
Hi there! Always happy to save someone some money Lol! I'm definately no pro - just an addicted enthusiast! But the c770 is a wonderful camera, and I'm sure that you'll have a great time with it! Take care,
Wayne
Guest 18-Mar-2005 00:58
Here I was, thinking about getting a Digital SLR and now seeing what kind of photographs the 770 can take, I think you have just saved me a very large sum of money. If my photos don't turn out I will know it was not the camera. Great shots. Are you a Pro?
Dirk 03-Mar-2005 16:40
The C770 makes great macro results. Do you know also other camera's which perform very well on macro? Especially when you need to leave some distance between the camera and the subject (especially butterfly). Mail me at dirk.cleiren@gomantwerpen.be
wayne_n27-Jan-2005 02:41
Thanks Manoj! Regarding an external flash, no, I don't have one (yet!). So far I have only been using the oncamera flash when required (ie for fill flash), but I don't use it very often actually.
Take care,
Wayne

Hi Wayne, it was just awesome to see ur photos, such pics are only seen in calendars. Just wanted to know a thing. Have you used external flash while taking those pictures of animals/beches etc.

Hi wayne, your photographs are stunningly beautiful! Will make anyone want to buy the C770 but I think its your talent that shines through the photos. Well done and may you inspire us all for a long time!!

I'm looking for my first digital camera and your photos and comments are a great inspiration to go with the C770. Are you on the west coast, I'm in Surrey get out on the Gulf and over to the Gulf Islands. Great shots.
Fabian Perreau 17-Nov-2004 03:37
Hi Wayne,
Your gallery is amazing, I am about to buy my 1st Digital camera, might go for the C770. Only problem is what sort of experience do I need to take 20percent of the shots you have produced? Will I need to do a course on Digital Photography?
Keep up the great snaps!!!!

Your photos are amazing ! I was looking for a digital camera that has a quality underwater housing, ability for good underwater videoclips and still be able to make decent photos.
I just found it! Even with 1/10 of your talent I hope will be able to make decent photos.
Michael 25-Oct-2004 18:20
Olympus should be paying you. You have truly shown what this camera can do in skilled hands.
Kate 29-Sep-2004 04:54
I am inspired! Beautiful shots, Wayne. I have had my Olympus camera for about 2 weeks and have been having so much fun with it, mainly taking photos of the kids. I also took a couple of fabulous shots out of a helicopter. I love the clarity of the images with this camera. Keep up the good work.
Deb 30-Aug-2004 22:46
Your images are incredible. I was in the market for a new camera and the C770 just won. Now, I just need to move to the Pacific Northwest. Wonderful work, Wayne.
Metternich 30-Aug-2004 12:20
Great pics ! Just came by via a link while searching for infos of Olympus cams. I am from Germany and always thought that getting great prictures might be simpler in your continent with such clear light and landscapes, as mine from all US trips also were great, but you really get the maximum out of all.
You and the cam seem to really get the best out of difficult and complex situations.
bossybritches 17-Aug-2004 10:59
Awesome shots Wayne. Tossing up between the 770 and the Fuji s7000. I think that Olympus might owe you some royalties! Hope my shots turn out half as good as yours. Happy snapping.

Many beautiful images Wayne. I'm looking forward to getting back to the Gulf Islands in particular. Until then, your pictures give me a powerful fix.

Great galleries Wayne,

just curious, where are you in Canada? I used to live in Calgary, (1977 to 1998) I moved to New Jersey in 1998 after meeting Leslie, we got married 5 years ago.
