Bobbing for fish?

This night heron had flown into the bay, landed on a log, flown to the small mud area and then walked into the water.
It just sat in water almost covering its wings. At one point it made a grab for a fish but missed and went back to sitting.




Then it splashed a bit to have a bath and went back to sitting.

I'd never seen a night-heron do this before. Eventually it got out of the water and flew off.
