Mike Neel takes the sprint

Mike Neel, left, of Northern California, outsprinted Bill Kund of Pasadena to take the Olympic Development race near Beaverton in May of 1976. Thanks to Jocelyn Lovell for identifying the rider in the center. He's Max Grace, from BC, three times Canadian Road Race champ.

What a great finish photo! Bill, why were you using barend shifters in that race?

Hi James,
I just ran across this photo online. I remember losing this sprint to Mike that day in Oregon. I think the date is either 1970 or 71. 1976 was my last season after having raced in Europe for 4 years. Great shot. How can I get a copy? I digital file would be great.
I'm a commercial photographer myself. Let me know how you would like to do this.
Regards, Bill Kund
