First, to Antalya, stopping at Myra's Lycian rock tombs and next day to Aspendos Theater, considered the best-preserved theater of antiquity. Near Demre (Kale), it seats 15,000, and the restoration efforts include the elaborate stage decorations. With very good acoustics, it continues to be used today. |

Myra area is filled with greenhouses growing tomatos, eggplant and other vegetables. Myra was the regional capital of Lycia when St. Nicholas (Santa Claus inspirer)

The children of Myra are protective of the site and curious about tourists. |
After I took these I tried to talk in Turkish to them and they broke out laughing. Wish I had gotten that. |
