Cyanea shipmanii are an attractive and strikingly exotic prickly palm-form plant, with delicate pinnately divided leaves. They grow to roughly 8 feet tall. There are only about ten maternal lines for the entire species. Rescued from the edge of extinction, they are widely planted in conservation enclosures, and I've been fortunate enough to help plant many of them.
