Most of these photos are of trematolobelia grandifolia on Hawai'i. They can grow in soil or as epiphytes, and can vary considerably in their ultimate size when they finally flower, from about 3 to over 12 feet.
Waimanu Bog in Pu'u 'O 'Umi NAR is reported to have trematolobelia macrostachys.
