I wrote Shipwrecks and Salvage in E Africa in 2006 and now eleven years later a new edition in colour is due out covering Lake Victoria and the smaller lakes including Albert and Kioga.

Hi my name is Euan Farquhar and I was born in Kampala in 1951. My father was a Dentist there and we lived for a time in the Agha Khans house in Jinja just off Nile Crescent. We left in bad times in about 1964, and migrated to Australia. I went to Nakasero Primary School, and have fond memories of both Jinja and Kampala. Never went back, but thinking of doing that.

I was born in Kampala Uganda in 1954. Went to Aga Khan Primary School in Kampala and left for England in 1971.Not been back since, but have often thought of going back for a visit. The pictures certainly bring back memories!

Hello,was born in nasambya hospital Kampala in 1957.
lived in nakivubo place and later in Old Kampala
from '62 to '72.in Madras Gardens.
Attended old kampala primary from '64 to '70.and
Old Kampala Secondry from '71 to '72(class 1e+2e)
Would like to hear from any students from that era.
Remember bunking off from school and going to
Bakuli hotel for our fix of "janjado matoke",brilliant!
Also remember visiting Dejays in Old Kampala for Fried Mogo and
sherbet.
Many happy memories of growing up in Kampala.

I was born and grew up in kampala, but left in 1971 and never returned.

I went to Nakasero Primary School in the 1960's. Family returned to UK in 1970. I haven't visited since but will do one day. Lots of memories - Speke and Grand Hotels, Bank of Baroda look same as does Jubilee Gardens. We used to live on McKinnon Rd just down from the Sheraton Hotel which used to be called the Apollo Hotel back then I think.

I left Uganda in 1988, I havent been home since then.
Your beautiful pictures brought back fond memories of Kampala & Nairobi.

Iwas born in Uganda 1946 studied in masindi kampala left in 1972 i revisited in 1990 with my father . i am very happy to see the memories of Uganda again
