Winter in Bryce Canyon

After a week of heavy snows, I was anxious to visit one of my favorite areas in the Southwest. What can I say except "Wow..." I can't tell you how wonderful it was to walk alone in the grandeur and silence of a pristine winter morning in Bryce...perhaps these images can give you a glimpse...

Brian, excellent work. Bravo. I've shot at Bryce in the winter and that is the coldest my hands have ever been--couldn't adjust the camera with gloves on! Your Sedona shots are superb, as well.

Brian, I visited Bryce for the 1st (and so far, only) time in November of 2003 and there was _just_ snow at the top of the canyon. I SO wish I was there a few month later, you gallery is beautiful. Well done.

Stunning images of a stunningly beautiful region. You did right by it with your compositions and your skill at handling the exposure. Your images don't any sign of human encroachment -- even your own -- thanks for sharing these views. Definitely worth my vote. CJ

Wow! What I would give to have seen this place after a snowfall like that. I've photographed the amphitheatre in the summer and was frustrated by the wide dynamic range of the scenes I was shooting. I can't imagine how difficult it must have been on a sunny day with a blinding layer of snow on the ground! Good job. I also thought you did a great job on a number of the compositions. It must have been a joy to take your time with those and not have to worry about others getting in your way! -Guy
