This lens is new to me so I'll be adding macro and portrait shots as I take them. Here's what the manufacturer had to say: "From classic portraits to 1:1 close up shots, the 105/2.8 Macro can handle a myraid of assignments. This lens adds extra working distance from the 60mm Macro, enabling different lighting techniques. The true focal length stays at 105mm all the way down to 1:1. The front does not rotate during focusing, and the A/M autofocus switch makes for quick and easy changes between manual and autofocus."

Your pictures are beautiful! I am searching for pictures taken w/ Nikon AF-S VR Micro 105mm lens. I really want to purchase one this weekend but don't want to get in over my head. I have a D70 and am very much an amateur. My goal is to learn how to use my camera manually.

Beauty,as they say, is in the eye of the beholder. Beauty is also in the simplicity of the picture, but we awe at the complexity and elegance of the subject. Thank you for sharing your work for it has solidified my desire for macro work and the lens.

Hi Christina,

I was looking for macro pictures taken by Nikkor 105, then I ended up on your side. I like the sharpness of this lens and definitely going to buy one next year before spring.
Now happily owing a Nikor 80-200 for sport fotography and the D70s kit.
