The elephant and the buffalo are two of the "Big 5" animals in a category that includes the lion, leopard and rhino. They are called so not because of their size, but because they are the most dangerous animals to hunt. These animals retaliate with the intent to kill. Of all the Big 5, the buffalo is surprisingly the most dangerous because they are reputed to be ceaseless in their vengence, often pursueing to the death of the aggressor. When it comes to size,the buffalo however is clearly overshadowed by the elephant who is the largest land animal.
