This graceful staircase is the main entrance to the Louvre, where the three main wings branch off, containing works of art from all parts of the world.
There are several other entrances as well, including the "Carousel Entrance" on the Rue Rivoli, which allows entry to the Louvre Carousel mall (my words) containing many shops ,
including the Louvre bookstore, print shop, post office and a number of restaurants and even a Starbucks !
