Tribute To Magritte (*)

Well someone had to try it! Only sorry I don't have a bowler hat.

Done in camera though it would have been easier to do as a composite.

Canon EOS 20D ,Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS
1/250s f/16.0 at 28.0mm iso200 with Flash full exif

This is similar to the image I posted in the "Head and Shoulders" some time ago. See:http://www.pbase.com/jonstern/image/32531338

I had the apple held in my mouth on a stick!

A fun piece, nicely done. The hat is a priceless deviation from the original and gave me a good chuckle. -Michael

Excellent shot. Fits the theme perfectly and IMO, the best so far. Cheers, Vikas.

Oddly, Bob, I think that I prefer the first one..even if it had flaws. Could post a link to the original? Best Wishes, Traveller

Reposted taking account of Grant's comments. Thanks Grant I think it improves it a little.

....oh, I love this!! The clear, bright colors and the sky !!!!!! .....well, words escape me. It's amazing how one counts the two buttons on the jacket......I want to learn from this one. shu

oh and I forgot, any sort of knot in the tie is an achievement for me but thanks for the link.

Grant, I agree about the flash, best I could manage with my single flash. Will maybe see if I can tone down the apple a little in PS and I'll check the overall lightness/darkness too tomorrow (I really need to make a second monitor calibration for working at night since I don't have controlled lighting).

This is a great idea but there are a few things that are nagging me...

The flash illumination of the apple doesn't match the lighting of the face. The whole image would look better (to me) if it were a little brighter. I would also work on tying a better knot in your tie. A classic four in hand with a centered dimple would look better.

LOL - Top marks for effort!

Sadly I was indoors, shooting towards a window that pretty much set the proportions of the photo. I'm far too sensitive to do something this odd in public.

Well, I for one, am startlingly impressed! This is fabulous...would yoy care to disclose how you suspended the apple...while outside. Best Wishes, Traveller
