17-35D17mmf2p8sss25th.jpg

This is an 11.2 megapixel export of an A900 full frame shot with the 17-35mm D wide open at 2.8, 1/25th with Steady Shot instead of a tripod (not desirable in here, the queues of huge SUV-style strollers carrying children two years older than we ever considered needed a buggy are enough of a hazard). The location is Edinburgh Zoo, Budongo exhibit and that's a truly enormous Genuine Fractals print on the wall. This image can be compared to the 11-18mm lens, at 11mm wide open, on A100-700 models as it's roughly the same size. I do not recommend using this or any other superwide zoom at full aperture - it should be considered a focusing aperture, not a shooting aperture. The corners are very soft and CA has been corrected in raw processing. The smear visible on some of the wires is either due to their moving (most likely) or to SS moving the sensor rapidly for about 1/4 of the total exposure - like flash ghosting effect.
