Here I deliberately composed to include the brilliant floodlight over a dark,dark part of the field of view,searching for coma or any kind of ghosting with the 70-200 VR. This kind of "bright light source seen against dark field" can lead to some nasty lens faults with many zooms. FWIW,I also have a B+W ultra-thin ring 010 clear F-Pro series filter over my lens. In fact, every shot in this gallery has been done with this filter in place. It's a new,never-been cleaned filter. I LOVE the way this lens renders out of focus highlights,as well as how it renders branches that are out of focus. The insects are there...but they don't show up as well on a web-reduction as small as this is.
