If you remember the stadium, White Elephant is a must see documentary. I believe the DVDs are available online. I bought a copy circa 2007, and it is very informative. I spoke to one of the individuals associated with the documentary and he has some of the murals when you walked into the stadium at his home in Miami. These are the murals that had baseball, boxing, etc. You couldn't miss them when you walked in! It was an amazing place that only had 100% attendance the day it opened. The Miami Sun Sox was the home team at the time.. The Miami Sun Sox played at Burdine's field (name before Orange Bowl) and now Marlin Stadium.

I'll never forget my father took my brother and I to an exhibition baseball game at the Miami Stadium with Satchel Paige pitching in the mid 50's. He threw pitches from behind his back, under his legs and other positions probably never replicated with accuracy over the plate all night long. My dad caught a fowl ball and got it signed by all the players. My brother and I not knowing what a precious piece of history we had at the time used it playing sandlot baseball in our Miami neighborhood at N.W. 42nd St. & 8th Ave.

I saw a wild west show here starring the Cisco Kid and Pancho direct from the tv series. They signed 8x10 photos after the show as we exited the turn styles.

i can remember going to the ball in the early 1960s to watch the yankees an baltmore play spring traning games.had baseballs sign by yankee plaqyers. tks 4 the

While I also attended 70's concerts at Miami Stadium (Peter Frampton, Pink Floyd and others), my primary memories were of the times my Dad, George Sullivan, and I went to the AAA baseball games played there in the 50's and 60's. That was the old "International League", where one of the best teams was Havana! The Miami Marlins, of course, was "our" team, and they were fairly good as I recall. Spring Training brought the major leagues to Florida, and the Baltimore Orioles to Miami Stadium. I clearly remember watching a game between the Orioles and the New York Yankees in Spring 1962. Roger Maris had just set the home run record the season before (61), and he hit another one that night in Miami Stadium. Mickey Mantle played that evening, as well as Whitey Ford, Yogi Berra and the rest of what was arguably the best team the Yanks ever fielded. So many memories!

That Lynyrd Skynyrd concert was on July 24th, 1976. The Marshall Tucker Band, The Outlaws & Grinderswitch opened for Skynyrd. Stephen Stills & Neil Young were supposed to be there but Neil "quit" the band right before the concert. I had just seen Skynyrd about 2 months before that at the Jai-Lai Fronton with The Atlanta Rhythm Sectoin. I also saw the Pink Floyd "Animals" tour at the baseball stadium in '78.

I remember seeing the original line-up of Lynryd Skynyrd at Miami Baseball Stadium in the summer of 1976(I was 17 yrs old). I saw my new friend from summer school backstage and he was able to get me right in front of the band for their set. I also jumped over the wall in August of 1976 for the original line-up of The Who. I was right in front of John Entwistle(bassist). Rolling Stone Magazine came out with a review of the show 2 weeks later and said it was, "perhaps the greatest live show they ever played!"(their "Whirlwind Tour" was only 4 dates long!) Saw Peter Frampton there in 1977, Stephen Stills jammed with him on the last 3 songs. Miss the old times in Miami...
