Does anyone remember when the diner closed? I thought I remember it staying open after the bakery closed

As a child, we lived close by in the High Pines area. We were a couple of blocks away from the Holsum Bakery. We didn't have air conditioning back in those days and on a hot, steamy summer evening, I can recall lying in bed and smelling the fresh bread baking. It was a bad day indeed when they tore down the bakery and put up that ridiculous Bakery Centre shopping mall. And yes, the annual Christmas lights display on the steps overlooking South Dixie Highway always made for a special seasonal outing with family and friends. Great memories !

I remember the beautiful Christmas displays every year at the South Dixie location. My Mom and Dad would take me there every year just to see it. The Holsum Bakery, wow.
