The Eastern Airlines corporate headquarters and executive offices were in Building 16 on the left, AKA the "Ivory Tower." The building was constructed in the 1960's and according to the contractor who tore it down in the early 2000's it was well constructed because it took longer than anticipated to demolish it. Building 11 on the right side housed Flight Operations and Commercial Computer Operations among other offices. It too was demolished in the early 2000's and now the eastbound Airport Expressway (SR 112) ramp runs very close to the north side of where the building once stood. The only building in this area to remain is building 5A and it has been occupied by the county Aviation Department's accounting division, facilities division, personnel and risk management sections, contract administration and other offices.
