Thank you to Erik Simonsen for contributing this great old image of Eastern's building along LeJeune Road in the northeast corner of Miami International Airport. This was before they built the extension of the Airport Expressway to MIA's main entrance further south on LeJeune Road and long before they built the 36th Street overpass to the eastbound Airport Expressway. Building 5A is on the left and is the only building remaining and houses Miami-Dade Aviation Department staff. Building 16, also known as "The Ivory Tower", was Eastern's headquarters and executive office and is in the middle of the photo. Building 11, which housed Eastern's Commercial Computer Operations and Flight Operations, among other offices, is on the right. I worked in Building 11 in Eastern's Commercial Computer Operations on the second floor at the time Erik took this photo. Buildings 16 and 11 were demolished in the early 2000's and I have photos somewhere in the boxes which I'll post someday if I live long enough.
