This original Pollo Tropical was opened in 1988 by brothers Larry and Stuart Harris. My co-workers in the admin office at Airside Ops at MIA and I drove over here numerous times in 1988 through the early 1990's at lunch time for a great quick lunch. It was the only Pollo Tropical at the time and the chicken was so good and I'm not a big chicken fan. Karen and I still get take out meals from Pollo Tropical in Miami Lakes which does a booming business that ties up traffic on Ludlam Road.
