Steve 'Crocodile Hunter' Irwin was tragically killed by a sting ray in a freak accident today 4th of Sep 2006.
I visited Australia Zoo only 4 weeks ago and am very saddened by his death.
He was one of my heroes and a legend and will be missed.
My deepest sympathies go out to Steves family and friends and the staff at the Zoo.
RIP Steve. You made a huge difference.

Steve was a unique and talented person whose life has touched millions, and hopefully his cause will be taken up by those to whom he reached out. His conservation message is so important and he will never be forgotten. Voted.

Yes, what a great person. So full of life, energy, optimism, and enthusiasm. He will be missed but hopefully he'll continue to affect people with his positive energy for a long time to come.
