The Veil nebula ( NGC6960) in Cygnus

NGC6960 is the western branch of the super nova remnant which also generated NGC6992/6995 of the previous picture. It is interesting to see how the blast of the super nova has cleared out the interstellar space from dust - the upper half of the pictures shows definitely more backgound stars than the lower half.

Canon EOS 20D
Modified Canon 20D mounted on a Vixen R200SSDG(8"/F4)+ Televue Paracorr + Astronomik UHC filter + IDAS-LPS filter( as an IR blocker). Calibration and stacking of 20x300sec/ISO800 exposures, averaging, color balancing, sharpening in Images Plus and Photoshop CS2 hide exif
