M45 - The Pleiades in Taurus

The "Seven Sisters" are part of a young galactic cluster which currently moves through a dust cloud. The particels of the cloud scatter and reflect the starlight ( hence the name "reflection nebula"). The distance to the cluster is approx. 440 lightyears, rather close on the galactic scale.
