Eta Carinae is one of the most massive stars in our Milky Way, embedded in a huge emission nebula. Because of its high mass it is very unstable and had several outbursts in the past. The star will end up as a supernova eventually.
A crop with the central region and the Keyhole nebula is here: http://www.pbase.com/gbachmayer/image/96435909/original
