Hideaway Creek flows from Hideaway Lake, joining Shellrock Creek and eventually draining into the Clackamas River. The name is fitting, because this waterfall is indeed hidden... it's not on any maps, not even the USGS topographic maps. My phototrekking friend Tom Kloster stumbled upon it one day. It's only a few feet from the Shellrock Lake parking area, but I don't know how many people actually take the time to skid down a steep hill to see it. And if you decide to brave that hill, there's another, less pleasant surprise... MOSQUITOS! The only way that I was able to get these photos was to bathe in DEET so that I could stay there for more than 15 seconds without getting chomped.
