Anyway, great work and from what I have seen so far, i will be back to view more.

Thanks for the info. I too have found that photography has added a lot of meaning to my life. I took my Canon 30D to India and just gave away photo's to people that wouldn't have a photo in their lives otherwise. The villages are very primative. The whole village would come to see. My printer is a battery operated Epson. The photo's are high quality prints. I hope my info helps you as well. Nancy in Arkansas

Hi Hubert,

I'm a city boy myself, and have lived in several large cities. I really enjoy and admire your work. I like the way you document your environment very much. I've added you to my favorite artists and know that I'll be back many more times because there is so much to see your site.

Best Wishes, Walter

What a great collection of photos. My good friend used to have an appartment just off Father Demo Sq where I was able to stay when visiting NYC( I live in Belfast, Ireland). It was great to see how it has been landscaped. Keep up the good work.

Hubert, I would like to thank you for sharing these amazing photos. I've always dreamed of living in Manhattan. Everyday I browse through your galleries and admire your remarkable work. It has truly inspired me. The city through your perspective is terrific. Maybe one day when I'm old enough I will be able to move to New York and capture a few nice shots as well. Good luck, and I hope you continue to make many more fabulous shots as I am looking forward to them!

I can't begin to tell you how much I have enjoyed your work. You are obviously a lover of flowers. How else could you take such fantastic photos? As a flower lover myself,I really appreciate the fact that you identify each flower, most of which I am familiar with, but not all. Thanks for sharing your wonderful photography with us.

Thank you so much for nice comment on my water lily photo. I can see that I will be visiting your galleries often due to the many interesting places one can go to in NY. It is so true that one does not have to go far to appreciate the many amazing things in ones area just as long as one learns to appreciate the little things that most people don't even see. Thank you so much for sharing your photos with all of us :-)

WHAT WONDERFUL PICTURES YOU'VE TAKEN........SO MUCH BETTER THAN UMO'S WEB SITE THAT SHOWS THE SAME PEOPLE PLAYING GUITAR IN VERY BORING PICTURES. YOUR SITE IS VERY DIVERSE AND CAPTURES THE TRUE SPIRIT OF WHAT GREENWICH VILLAGE AND ITS MUSICIANS ARE ALL ABOUT IN THIS GREAT SECTION OF NEW YORK. IT SHOULD NEVER GET BORING. PLEASE CONTINE ALL YOUR CREATIVE SHOTS. Jane

Dear Hubert:
What luck for Mothers Acting Up and for LaGuardia Place Community Garden for you to be there today whe we were doing our Code Pink ritual and getting ready for our walk (one is not allowed to march anymore) to Union Square. This is the third year I am running the New York City Mother's Acting Up rally - and this time we moved to the Asian Heritage Festival where Nannan danced the Ugyar Dance, a Chinese Folk Dance with the NYCCC (Chinese Cultural Center). I got to give out hundreds of cards and to tell people about Mother's Acting Up and the political agenda we have. And, what luck for me to see your incredible website - the images are astounding and remind me to tell you about ARAS at the Jung Foundation. How do I get to see what you shot at the garden today? Thanks and talk to you soon. I finally get to see the site that Wilhemenia knows as well - with all the names of the flowers. Astounding. Take care, Eileen Kalaa

HI, Hubert. When I read your profile, I found that you have a Canon100mm Macro. I very recently bought a Canon 350D with the Canon 100mm macro because my son really has developed an interest in shooting macro photos expecially those insects (he is 14). As you said, this len has very shallow depth of focal length, the photos he took last week were disappointing him altough he found interesting subjects. He has tried at home using long explosing time and small aperture to get better focal length, and came out better. But it is home situation, can't use outside expecially in the countryside. Do you have better solution using this len on shooting the insects or other snapshots?

Dear Hubert!

You photografs very beautifl. In St.-Petersburg(RUssia) that flovers only in may. Fank you very much.

Love your photos, and thanks for the camera info. I'm drawn to the same type of images and just have a Canon IXUS V, as I really can't afford anything more just now and can't CARRY anything heavier just now either.
Thanks.
Hamilton Brower 04-Apr-2005 02:55
Hello there Hubert:
I hope you may remember me....this is Hamilton Brower. One of the many volunteer gardeners at the Jefferson Market Garden who wrote you about your photography several months ago.
You and I actually met last summer/fall in the garden when that young heron was "fishing" in the goldfish pond!
Anyway, I have a question for you. Susan Sipos, the horticulturist for the garden, has asked me if I would contact you to see if the garden can possibly use one or several of your photos in their press kit they are putting together for the upcoming JMG 30th Anniversary Benefit. They will be honoring Lyndon Miller, the wonderful local horticulturist.
In any case, I am not sure which photos they are interested in, but they said that they would love to use some and absolutely give you photo credit in the press kit too.
I will be at the garden working tomorrow, which is Monday April 4. I'll ask Susan if she has any ideas as to which photos they are interested in utilizing.
If you are around, please stop by, or just call me at 917-756-5185. That is my cell phone so feel free to leave me a message if I do not pick up when you call!
I look forward to chatting with you further about this. And thank you for your time, Hubert!
Hamilton

Iam living in Rotterdam/Holland/Europe; I visited New York once and I fell in love with that city. Since then I am searchign the internet for NYC photo's. Lately I cam across your website. This is what I was looking for; fabulous - looking your pics it is as if I am really in NewYork. I use your photos as paperwall in my pc - every day a new one , so I hav 6066 days to go- Question: do you have "older" NewYork pics, i.e. before your "ditgital period" - I am really interested -
best regards, don rinck

Hi Hubert,
you've got amazing pics of New York City! Great job!!!!!

Btw, would it be possible to get some of West End Avenue, too?
I would like to see some of the old houses around # 680, if possible.

Thanks!!

I'm a first time user looking at PBase. Most of the postings are obviously amateur and that's ok, but boring. I did see a few images that kept me looking. I was ready to quit when I came across your postings. You have a definite style that carries throughout your work. (I would seem you've been doing this a while) Your composition and uses of light are well top notch. I'll be back to see if you post anything new...Good work!

Always nice to see your work, the man reading the newspaper reminds me Moondog, the music composer from NYC.
Guest 18-Oct-2004 06:17
I saw your great pictures of the fountains;
did you use flash as well, to fill in shadows
(water droplets seem nice and sharp).

I live near Dundas Square fountains, and did similar set of pictures,
http://wearcam.org/dundas-square/

Since so many people splash around in Washington Square Park
fountains, I was wondering if it was designed as a waterplay
area, or if people using it just wait until no police are
in the area, and hope that they don't get caught.

In Toronto, these fountains were designed as waterplay areas, but some
overzealous security guard was still trying to enforce
a no-bathing rule that actually didn't exist.

Would it be possible to use one of your willow tree images on our web site loading page? Please get back to me asap. We would be happy to credit the photo.
