Cecil the caterpillar

Inspired by the wondrous Sharon Rogers -- albeit without her talent, of course... --
I decided to have a go at shooting this little bug(g*r), that's been crawling all over my bedroom window all week.

Mixed results, I know; but, overall, I'm pretty pleased with this small selection... -- especially when you take into account the fact that
these were shot through the glass: now covered with the trail of dirt and destruction this thing's managed to leave all over its surface....

(I tried to get it to clean up after itself: but you know what teenagers are like. Said he was hungry. Sulked. And then went off for more food.
Ahh... the wonders of raw wisteria... -- the equivalent of a Ginster's pasty for caterpillars, I suppose....)

----------

One day soon, Cecil -- if he is a he... -- will grow up to be a Vapourer Moth, like this one:

[Thanks to Phil -- a.k.a. 455rocket: for permission to link to his wonderful picture!]

Cecil was a caterpillar, Cecil was my friend.
The last time I saw Cecil he was this big....
I said "Ooh, Cecil! What have you done?"
And Cecil said: "I've eaten all the cabbages in the garden...!"
