I love the canal shots. I grew up in Ottawa as well and skated to school on the canal in the winter. Later, I skated to Carelton, often returning late at night on the perfect ice right after the flooded it when it was minus 20 degrees. I'm on the west coast now and no matter how beautiful the scenery is here, I find myself often bragging about Ottawa. Thanks for the photos. Toby

Very nice shots man. I miss ottawa so much looking at these pics. Before I left I used to work on Sparks Street at Transport Canada, and I miss walking down Sparks every lunch hour in the summer. Beautiful shots Howard. Reminds me that I must go back for a visit - we lived for 20 years in Orleans and, as is so often the case, we never really took full advantage of the beauty and culture of our own town. I'm trying to do better here in Waterloo!

I have a son that who a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and he is serving in Gloucester now. He was in Ottawa from March until April last year. So I really do enjoy seeing all of your pictures from this area, and thanks for shareing them.
