Dear Mr. John Glines,

I took great pleasure going through your Pbase Gallery. It added so much to my general knowledge. I want to congratulate you for such great work. I would like to see more photos featuring artists, statesmen and scientists. I would like to especially get to know more on the characters of the Second World War - most of all generals and statesmen.

I thank you for your great work and wish you all the success.

Yours sincerely,

Garabed - Garo

The religion of the future will be a cosmic religion. It should transcend personal God and avoid dogma and theology. Covering both the natural and the spiritual, it should be based on a religious sense arising from the experience of all things natural and spiritual as a meaningful unity. Buddhism answers this description...
If there is any religion that could cope with modern scientific needs, it would be Buddhism.

John...

2009 and so much available to us mere mortals through the Internet, etc. A different world as well it should be.

Your photographs are spellbinding. But how did you wind up in Bangkok?

I live in retirement in Southern Illinois with my dog in a very nice old-fashioned house. After several interim years in Europe, left NYC in 1984, taught here and have had a relatively happy, contented, and fulfilling life.

Scratching my head as to where we last saw each other all those decades ago. In New York at Gene's?

Nice to see your name and hear from you again.

Fond memories,

Richard

John, excuse for the delay, but answering your question the configurations of camera are as origin. I only use for final result a little of “Photoshop” to improve the images.

Hi John: Thank you for your kind comments on my galleries, and especially the Poppies. I have learned, quite contrary to the notion of a vast majority of photographers, that I can get much more satisfying photographic yield on muggy, dull, cool and cloudy days than in the bright, warm, harsh, glaring and contrasty light of the open sun. May be there is something in my personality. Best wishes. JARIS

Hello, John, and thanks for your generous comments on my galleries. Your own, of thailand, make me regret even more I will not be able to share my own captures of Thailand Laos and cambodia 2006, save a few. The loss of my portable memory being the reason. A little accident I will put behind with a revenge, on my next trip, 2007, to a region of the world that has changed my life forever.

Hello John,
Thanks for visiting my galleries and your nice comments.
I spent quite a long time enjoying watching yours.
Thailand is a waonderful ountry. Unfortunately I have only been to Bangkok on business trips a few days ... with no camera.
Seeing all your pics reminds me also that I should finally take some time to scan all my "pre-digital" stuffs.
