UGC 2885 Spiral Galaxy type SA(rs)c in Perseus. This is the largest known spiral galaxy and is
perhaps an outlying member of the Perseus Supercluster. The estimated size is about three times that
of our large neighbor The Andromeda Galaxy. Taken on the nights of Nov. 13, 14, 15, and 16, 2009.
Imaged with CCD Lab’s Q285M and a C8N at f5 on a Losmandy G11/Gemini mount, presented with a
slight crop and resample. The L subframes were 5 and 6 minutes binned 1x1, while the RGB subframes
were 4 minuutes binned 1x1 resulting in the following total exposures L:R:G:B (min) = 345:60:60:60.
Captured with Nebulosity, calibrated and sigma combined in Iris with other processing using
PixInsight LE and Photoshop CS. North is up.
