The morning breeze...

A milkweed tussock caterpillar (Euchaetes egle) on a milkweed leaf. They are often seen in clusters on the milkweeds at this time of year. As a moth, they are a rather nondescript pale brown but they have an orange abdomen with black spots.

The haiku is by Buson (1716-83), translated by Stephen Addiss, Fumiko Yamamoto and Akira Yamamoto.

I love its colors, patterns and tufts of "fur." It is quite beautiful in an inviting, touch me way. V.

Wonderful little creature, looks quite similar to a rope toy for a young dog! v

It looks like a piece of tapestry, natural art.

How grazy is that! I guess no bird will touch it :)
This fit well with the poem of fur!
