my military unit

During my military term, I was with the headquarters of the ARVN 10th Politic Warefare Battalion, based at No. 2 Thanh Son St, Danang, Vietnam. My official responsibility was in charge of the battalion's photographic darkroom. When at home base, my weapon was a Topcon RE Super camera and the uniform was "Olive Drab" — the color olive shaded green that was standard fighting uniform for U.S. GIs and tanks during World War II through Vietnam War.

Since I was assisgned as military reporter/photographer to cover the war, I had been authozired
to wear the camouflage uniform specially assigned to the military branch that I worked with,
to enter all military airports and using any available air transport,
and to be exempted from military curfew.
