Gosh there was a time when bird images were a major part of my portfolio, but then the San Elijo Lagoon, where I took most of these shots, was disrupted by a major, multi-year renovation project. Needless to say the disruption caused by the construction has greatly diminished the attractiveness of the site for birding. The project is scheduled for completion this summer so hopefully I can get back to this fun type of Nature photography. Sorry I don't know the species in this shot.
