The refugee house has been standing in the middle of the Vliehors for more than a century. In earlier days it was a refuge for stranded castaways. Dozens of drowning were saved. In addition to dry clothes, water and food, there was also a telephone connection with the Posthuys. Nowadays, the refugee house is owned by the Vliehors Expres and decorated as a beachcombing museum (the smallest museum in the Netherlands). Here you will find a motley collection of sea worthies. In 1997 the "Reddingshuisje" was also officially designated as a wedding location.
