Alcatraz Island Prison

This is a shot from the inside of Alcatraz Prison.
"Broadway" was the old nickname for the central corridor
in the Alcatraz cellhouse.
The image was converted to B&W and a glow added for effect.

Nice image with the converging lines and the glow of the entering light against the darkness of the cells. I think you almost have to do prisons (or ex-prisons) in black and white to catch the grimness. The repetitive elements evoke the routineness and institutional feel of prison life. V
