Reminds me of the old song "My Grandfather's Clock" by Henry Clay Work.
The song honors a old longcase clock at an Inn in Piercebrdige, England
which stopped working completetly after many attempts to fix it
after the death of the two brothers who originally owned the Inn.
"It was bought on the morn
Of the day that he was born,
And was always his treasure and pride;
But it stopped short
Never to go again,
When the old man died."
1876, Henry Clay Work
