Aurora Borealis - Wisconsin - August 5, 2004

Timber Ridge Golf course - Minocqua, Wisconsin

I went outside just before 11:00pm CDT to close the shutter on my camera after doing a star trails shot and to my surprise I see these ghostly apparitions of aurora flickering and pulsing over the western horizon. The photos were taken over a 45 minute period after which the aurora faded out. Very beautiful and eerie at the same time.

I saw these exact lights over Sheboygan WI on March 10, 2008.

Hi Stan, nice display, see latitude has it's advantages. Next time a decent display is expected, I may go for a drive north myself!
