12" LX200GPS

Main instruments inside the Observatory
The 12" LX200GPS (purchased from Adelaide Optical Centre) has been
a surprise performer as far as LX200GPS's
go. It works flawlessly, points with an all-sky RMS pointing error
of just 2 arc min and can routinely autoguide with sub arc sec
average guide errors!

Visually this scope performs too. I have detected the Horsehead Nebula,
bagged several 15th mag galaxies, seen detail in the Red Spot on Jupiter
and even split a 0.6" double star!

For the money the Orion ED80 is an absolute ripper!
Giving sharp and contrasty images this scope has proved excellent
for imaging.
