We converted an old 10D body to shoot only in infrared. The camera was converted by LifePixel http://www.lifepixel.com . The LifePixel folks took out the Canon IR blocking filter that sat in front of the sensor and replaced it with one that only passes IR light. You look through the viewfinder and compose using visible light but the shot comes out in IR. This beats the heck out of using a filter in front of the camera. Most of the time you can hand-hold the shots.
