"Mom and dad would swim in this pool, the original pool from Smith's casino that remained after the buildings were demolished. The South Beach pier would have been to the right, just out of the picture."
"This picture is from April 1955, looking north. The white building in the background is the first hotel on Ocean Drive you would have run into walking north from the pier (I can't think of the name of it)."
"I believe that this pool was removed sometime in the late 50s or early 60s. Perhaps someone else can clarify that to a more specific year."
