The Fresnel lens from Fowey Rocks Light where Hamilton "Hamp" Sharpe Perry served as lighthouse keeper

Coast Guard Reserve Training Center, Yorktown, Virginia

Thank you to Roberta Perry Hughes for contributing this image of the Fresnel lens that was used in the Fowey Rocks Light where her grandfather Hamilton "Hamp" Sharpe Perry served as lighthouse keeper from the 1920s to the early 1940s.

Fowey Rocks Light was finished in 1878 and operated by the U. S. Lighthouse Service until 1915 when that agency was merged with the U. S. Lifesaving Service into the U. S. Coast Guard. The lens is now on display at the Coast Guard Aids to Navigation School at their Yorktown, VA, training center.
