Brooklyn

Brooklyn, named for the Dutch city of Breukelen, is one of the five boroughs of New York City. Were it an independent city, it would be the 4th largest in the United States. The Battle of Brooklyn (also known as the Battle of Long Island) in August and September 1776 was the first major battle in the American Revolution, and it was the largest battle of the war.
