Staten Island: Chinese Scholar's Garden

The New York Chinese Scholar's Garden, a replica of a typical scholar's garden from the Qing Dynasty, is part of the Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden in Staten Island, New York. A team of 40 Chinese artists and craftsmen from Suzhou constructed the garden in the spring of 1998 using materials shipped directly from China. The garden opened in June of 1999.
