Yen River

About a two hour drive from Hanoi is the Perfume Pagoda (Chua Huong), a complex of pagodas and Buddist shrines built into the limestone cliffs of the Huong Tich Mountains (Mountains of Perfumed Terraces), and the only way to get there is by boat up the Yen River. Here are pictures of the Yen River and Thien Chu Pagoda (Pagoda Leading to Heaven), part of the Perfume Pagoda and one of the most sacred places in Vietnam.
